Who are we?

Here at Cedar Memorial, we are in the business of telling stories, the stories of those who have had their time on the game and are now moving on, and the stories of characters whose arcs have ended. These stories are what we do best. Coming to us we help you tell these stories via the funeral services we provide. Our staff isn't just random players who share a common interest, we live, work, and study the funeral industry, and apply the craft here. Our goal is to help you create memories that can be looked upon for years to come and pay tribute to those who have moved on from our corner of the internet.

Our History:

The beginning:

Cedar Memorial of Roblox was founded with the combination of two firms owned by Sterling_O'Deaghaidh and Captan_Brenneman in 2012. The group was named and originally modeled after Cedar Memorial of Cedar Rapids Iowa and would be kept until 2015.

2013

Transfer of Ownership

In 2013, then-owner Captain_Brenneman (known as TransportCompany) decided to hand ownership over to the business partner and head funeral director Sterling_ODeaghaidh. This move also culminated with several changes to the products and services offered.

2015

In 2015, Cedar Memorial expanded its maps and started offering several new features common in real life but not yet offered on the platform. These services included such things as hearse loading, lowering of caskets into graves, and more. This began the first of many improvements and technologies that the group became known for. It was also this time that Cedar rebranded itself, both as a sign of respect to the real-life business that we were named after, but also as a means to create our own identity.

2017

2017 saw many changes to what Cedar Memorial offered. Among the technological changes, a major change was joining the ROBLOXian Funeral Directors Association as an approved firm, with Sterling_ODeaghaidh eventually becoming the board director. This year also marked the end of allowing services for real-life people, as a means to keep the privacy of clients and others as safe as possible as well as a means of respect to the decedents.

2019 and Beyond

Since 2019 Cedar Memorial has expanded operations to working with several Role-play groups as a means to provide funeral services to their communities as well as taking the identity of a robloxian-born and based funeral group into new means. The group's main office is now (non-canonically) found in Robloxity on the main drag, a grand new cemetery dedicated to telling the stories from Roblox's past coming recently in March of 2024 and more.
